In this talk, we are concerned with the disturbance treatment for the single-input-single-output linear system. By combining the well-known approaches such as ADRC and IMP, a new observer, referred to as extended dynamics observer (EDO), is proposed to estimate both state and disturbance simultaneously. The only assumption for the observer design is that the plant with unknown disturbance is observable. The main advantage of the developed method lies in the maximum utilization of the prior information of the disturbance. The more accurate the prior disturbance dynamics we have, the better performance the observer would be.
